God has given us each many blessings. He never promised that life would be easy, but He also never promised that life would be completely terrible. He has given us all trials and tribulations in our lives to strengthen us, but He has also filled our lives with many good things. It just depends on if we are able to find all the big and small blessings here and there.
Sometimes, I tend to complain about something and when I think about it, I realize how much of a blessing it truly is compared to other people’s situations. When I complain about food, I forget that there are people who don't have food in other areas around the world. When I complain about not having everything I want, I forget that some people don't have everything they need. Philippians 2:14-15 says, "Do everything without grumbling or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure, "children of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation." Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky." According to these verses, when we decide to avoid complaining, we start to stand out from other people like a star in the dark blue sky. Our actions can reveal a lot about who we are and who we follow, so it is important to try our hardest to represent Jesus in the best way possible to others. It is truly a struggle to learn to complain less, but it isn't something impossible! Why? Because NOTHING is impossible with God! (Matthew 19:26) It won't be easy at first, but after practicing being positive, it will just become a habit. Philippians 4:8 says, “Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things." Lastly, let's remember that we are all called to think good thoughts. If we focus on the blessings in our lives instead of the negative things, life will seem a lot better and it will be easier to complain less.
