You've probably heard this verse a lot, and doing it isn't as easy as it sounds. The phrase "Love your neighbor" is a bit general, so here's a question that will get you really thinking: How will you love your neighbor as yourself? Below, I have listed 10 different ways that a person can be loving: ➊ Promise without forgetting Proverbs 13:12 says, "Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a longing fulfilled is a tree of life." ➋ Answer without arguing Proverbs 17:1 says, "Better a dry crust with peace and quiet than a house full of feasting, with strife." ➌ Listen without interrupting Proverbs 18:2 says, "Fools find no pleasure in understanding but delight in airing their own opinions." ➍ Give without sparing Proverbs 21:26 says, "All day long he craves for more, but the righteous give without sparing." ➎ Trust without wavering 1 Corinthians 13:7 says, "[Love] always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres." ➏ Share without pretending Ephesians 4:15 says, "Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of Him who is the head, that is, Christ." ➐ Enjoy without complaint Philippians 2:14 says, "Do everything without grumbling or arguing." ➑ Pray without ceasing Colossians 1:9 says, "For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you. We continually ask God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives." ➒ Forgive without punishing Colossians 3:13 says, "Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you." ➓ Speak without accusing James 1:19-20 says, "My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, because human anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires." I'm sure that if we just try to do these things, they will have a big impact on our relationship with other people.
