Colossians 2:6-7 says, "So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in Him, rooted and built up in Him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness."

What does a little seed need to grow? It must be watered and given enough sunlight. It also needs good, nutrient-filled soil! These things are crucial for a little seed to grow into a plant. It can't just be put in the ground and then be forgotten. It has to be taken care of!

We can't forget about our faith, either. God has planted a seed of faith in each one of us! If spending time with Jesus continually slips our minds and we don't think of Him as a priority, our faith won't grow. On the other hand, if we spend time with the Lord and read His Word, then our faith will blossom!

Below are some ideas of ways to grow stronger in your faith. I hope you find these useful and beneficial!

My Bible

Although I have many different Bibles, my favorite one is my journaling Bible. I recently bought the "NIV Beautiful Word Coloring Bible" from Michael's, and I love using it! It has lots of verses to color, as well as a 1 1/2 inch margin of space to write notes and doodle!

In the slideshow, I featured some of my favorite doodles. Most of them are done in my Bible, while I did a few others on regular paper. (Some of the writing utensils I used are mentioned below.)

My Little Faith Book
I bought my Little Faith Book from Amazon through the original creator, Jenny (@christiangirls on Instagram). I purchased the "create your own cover" style and decorated the front with colorful paper, a picture, and  some washi-tape. These  books are especially great for keeping a prayer request list, doodling Bible verses, or even writing down encouraging quotes.

(You can either make your own using a composition notebook or buy a pre-made one on Amazon.)

Writing Tools
  • Highlighters come in handy when you find a verse in your Bible that just "pops" right off the page!
  • Gel pens are great when it comes to my notes. I use them to bold certain words that stand out or to draw things that relate to a Bible verse!
  • I also enjoy using calligraphy pens to write out Bible verses, quotes, or even song lyrics.

Devotional Books

Reading a devotional each day is a great way to learn more about being Christlike and connecting with God. It doesn't take very long, either! I have the book Daily Whispers of Wisdom for Girls and would recommend it to others! Devotional books can be purchased from places like Amazon, eBay, Barnes & Noble, or the Family Christian Store, to name a few. Also remember, a devotional a day keeps the devil away!

Verse of the Day

The website "www.verseoftheday.com" is a great website that has a different verse for each day! It has some thoughts about the verse, a prayer, and a picture with the verse on it.

The Bible app also has a daily verse and verse image that you can read as well.
