Yesterday did not go as I had originally planned. When I woke up in the morning, I went downstairs and watched some TV. A few minutes later, my mom started feeling sharp chest pain and she and my dad rushed to the doctor. They left instantly and my aunt [who lives 1-2 minutes away] came to watch over me and my siblings. While she was there, I went upstairs to pack my final things so I could to leave for church camp. You see, I was supposed to leave Sunday afternoon, but due to my family emergency, I wasn't be able to make it. [Luckily, my dad will be driving me later this week!]
Although I wasn't able to go to camp yesterday, I'm super thankful that my mom is doing much better. Also, thank you all for your prayers! Your comments made me smile. :) Anyways, all this is to say that when things don't go as we planned, we shouldn't worry because God is giving us something better. And to be honest, I was kind of nervous about going to church camp and am glad I got to stay home a few extra days. When God changes our plans, we should be thankful because He is actually adjusting them for our good. It's all a part of His perfect plan! I'm also really thankful that God filled me with His peace yesterday. I could've been easily worried by what was happening, but I decided to go to God and ask Him to heal and protect my mom. After I prayed, I decided to leave my situation in His hands and trust His oh so perfect plan. And guess what? It was totally worth it! My mom is doing much better now, and I'm glad I didn't waste my day worrying away. God has continually proven to me that trusting in Him is rewarding. Yet, I sometimes struggle to do so in tough situations. I even tell myself during those times that I know God will come through for me, and that I shouldn't worry, but I still do, because I'm human and I'm no where near perfect. Times like these shouldn't discourage us, though, because God can use those situations to strengthen our faith in Him. Thanks for reading!!
